Trinibago American Association of Southern Connecticut (TAAoSC)
Organization
The Trinbago American Association of Southern Connecticut (TAAoSC pronounced "tay-os") is a non-profit entity, incorporated in the State of Connecticut on August 21, 2011.
The Organization acquired its 501 (C) (3) Federal Tax Exempt Status on August 29, 2013. Its founding members all share a Trinidad and Tobago ancestry or heritage. Recognizing that there was a relatively large amount of people of similar heritage in southern Connecticut they decided to form an organization geared towards promoting the rich culture of the islands of Trinidad and Tobago and as a catalyst for community outreach and cultural exchange.
We are dedicated to the task of enhancing the lives of others through cultural exchange. For example most people might have heard of the Steel Pan but know very little of its origin and its many applications. Carnival and calypso are also other areas of an ethnically and culturally diverse heritage we would love to share.
